Van Makes & Models in Different Industries: Most Popular?
Following our research, the front-runner and choice for many industries is the Mercedes Sprinter. This van make and model dominates industry van choices and can be seen used by all leading supermarkets (we’re looking at you Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda), as well as several delivery companies and even two of our picks below. This follows the move from the popular Ford Transit, which appeared to be the preferred choice a few years ago before the shift to the Sprinter.
We’ve rounded up four different industries and the vans that they use most often.
Emergency Services – Ambulance – Mercedes Sprinter
With Emergency Service vehicles, in particular Ambulances, a reliable and quality van is needed more than ever. And despite the Fiat Ducato being used widly, the Mercedes Sprinter dominates this industry over any other make and model, for it's robust nature and generally-known reliability.
British Gas – Volkswagen Caddy
British Gas has changed it's design and colours over time but it has steadily remained with the Volkswagen Caddy for some time now. They most commonly opt for the maxi version of this van type, allowing for the sliding door anbd extra room inside.
Royal Mail - Peugeot Partner
Royal Mail has changed it's fleet vans several times over the years with regular upgrades and updates being made. However, the most recent and now most common van we see is the Peugeot Partner. This is among a few other Peugeot models that can be seen within the Royal Mail industry.
Ice Cream Van – Mercedes Sprinter
The iconic Ice Cream van has changed massivly over the years, and so has the van models that are used. Of course only ther chassis is used in this industry, but even with that in mind, a reliable and well engineered van is required and that's why the Mercedes Sprinter is appearing once again in our line up.
