Reversing damage is the quietest expense on a van. A cracked bumper is a body shop booking, a courtesy vehicle and a week of lost work, and it happens at walking pace in a loading bay. The Rhino ImpactStep is built so the step absorbs that impact instead of your Maxus Deliver 9 (2020- ) - while giving you a full-width, anti-slip platform for getting in and out of the load area.
The step takes the hit, not your van
Twin rubber buffer shock absorbers compress by up to 60mm to soak up the force of a low-speed impact. A pivoting bracket design means corner strikes are absorbed too, not just straight-on ones - which matters, because corners are what you catch on gateposts and bollards. Independently tested at up to 3mph on a fully laden Sprinter, the ImpactStep resists an impact of up to 6 tonnes, and is engineered to a safe failure mode so that if something does give, it is the step and not your chassis.

Safe access, all year round
The full-width design gives you a large tread area rather than a narrow ledge, with an anti-slip surface that still grips in wet and frozen conditions and a high-visibility yellow strip running the width of the step so it stays obvious in poor light. It also doubles as a stable platform for reaching roof-mounted equipment, so there is no need to climb on a tyre.
Which sensor option do I need?
This is the only choice you need to make, and it depends on what is already fitted to your van:
- No Reversing Sensors - your van has no rear parking sensors and you do not want to add any.
- With Reversing Sensors - your van has no rear parking sensors and you would like the step supplied with a sensor kit.
- With Connect+ - your van already has factory-fitted parking sensors. Rhino's Connect+ system lets you pop the original sensors out of your bumper, locate them into the housings built into the step, and reconnect them to the vehicle loom with the plug-and-play cables provided. No rewiring, no specialist knowledge, and your existing in-cab display and audio warnings carry on working as normal. Blanking plugs are supplied to fill the empty bumper apertures. Some vehicles require the bumper to be removed for fitting.
If your van has factory sensors, choose Connect+ — the "With Reversing Sensors" option supplies sensors you already own.
